Voice Overs, and the love for Radio
I grew up in awe of the Radio - invisible voices that take you with them on story tales like no other. It was a dream to one day become a Radio Jockey.
And the dream came true - when for my first job I landed at the hottest radio station in town - Radio Michi 98.3.
Onboarded initially for online shows, the team at Mirchi instantly gauged me to be made for more. I very soon started hosting a live radio show at Mirchi Delhi 3PM to 5PM - telling stories, listening to people and vibing to the playlist. Not to brag, but I was the quickest newbie to go live at 98.3 yet.
Radio also gave me the opportunity to hone my voice acting skills - experimenting with multiple voices, modulations, tonality and what not. Playing with my voice is what I do best.
Media and content - Creating art, creating impact
Having reached out to lakhs of people through my voice, I realised the power media holds to create impact for people. A masters degree in Media further backed this belief.
And this search for impact soon brought me to JoshTalks - a YouTube production house driven to give voice to the real life stories from India.
Media, contrary to the traditional understanding, is not just live reporting.
It's research .
It's curation .
It's marketing.
It's art.
And I, dear reader, am the artist.
A warm fuzzy feeling
In the world of fake personas, I'm known among my friends to be the "real" me, at all times.
I've also always been fond of the stage - from Theater, to Dance to Singing - you name it. Being punjabi, Bhangra has always been close to my heart. So much that to start the culture, I founded the girls bhangra society at SGTB Khalsa college - Urban Bhangra Girls - that now has 100s of members and millions of views on YouTube.
Warm and funny, sometimes adamant, often sarcastic, and always hopeful. Forever looking for ways to connect to new people, explore new worldviews, dig up old stories and grow in the process.
